“In the days of my youth, which took place in New York, I refused to utter an oath of allegiance to the flag. Naturally, I was sent to the director’s office, who asked:” Why don’t you want to take an oath of allegiance? After all, everyone does it! “I replied:” Once everyone believed that the Earth was flat, but this does not mean that it is so. “I explained that America owes its achievements to other cultures and nations, and I would prefer to bring oath of loyalty to the Earth and all its inhabitants.
Needless to say, soon after that I left school and equipped a laboratory in my room, where I began to study natural science and other sciences. And then I realized that the Universe was subject to the laws, and that man and society itself are no exception. Then, in 1929, l crash, which was the beginning of what is now called the Great Depression. I could not understand why millions of people were unemployed, lost their homes and were forced to starve, while the plants were idle and the resources were still available. That’s when I realized that the rules of the economic game are fundamentally erroneous. Soon after, World War II began, during which many countries consistently destroyed each other. At the end of the war, I calculated that all the means and resources spent on destruction could easily provide every person on the planet with everything they needed. Since then, I have watched mankind dig its own grave. As invaluable exhaustible resources are constantly being wasted and destroyed in the name of profit and a free market. I observe how social values are reduced to artificial materialism and thoughtless consumption. And how financial forces control the political system of a supposedly free society. Now I am 94 years old. I am afraid that my attitude towards this remains the same as 75 years ago. It’s time to stop this madness. ”
